Rules of Life #25

It’s also much easier to react than it is to respond.

I often use this powerful analogy to define the difference between reacting and responding.

Should your doctor prescribe medicine and you react to it… than it is likely that it is a bad outcome

Should your doctor prescribe medicine and you respond to it… than it is likely that it is a good outcome.

Another thing I convey to people when I coach, is to never make an emotional key decision, particularly when one is hurt or offended. If you do, you can bet your bottom dollar that this decision will be one that will make matters worse not better – one that will bring that unwanted emotion of regret. There’s no worse emotion than regret in my book!

So think about what really happened; think about is it worth getting angry just to get even – is that even logical?

With so much negativity being pumped subliminally into our unconscious minds, it is easy to get angry, but the damage it can cause, is not so easy to repair.
